The Great Commission
The Bible says that every word must be confirmed in the mouth of two or three witnesses (Matthew 18:16). The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are referred to as the harmony of the Gospel because they are all witnesses of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before he ascended into Heaven, Jesus commanded his apostles to go into all nations and make disciples. Jesus’s commandment to his disciples is known as the Great Commission. This article is a study of the Great Commission and what is expected of the followers of Jesus Christ. The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all have their versions of the instructions that Jesus gave his disciples before he ascended into Heaven, but Matthew’s version is widely called the Great Commission.
